About

Hello! I’m Maximillian Olson, an interdisciplinary illustrator, writer, and artist educator based in Massachusetts.

My visual work centers around narratives, exploring subjects such as love in its various forms, grief, trauma, and transformation. I make art for people who feel afraid, out of place, or disillusioned with the world, and seek connection with others through storytelling. I feel kinship with and find beauty in the ordinary and the outcast, such as creatures like insects and street rats that are considered insignificant.

By creating from a place of earnest love for the world and people around me, I search for a bridge between my teaching and art practice. If my work can inspire others to create art and tell their own stories, then I have succeeded.
